Friends of Wechiau have provided more educational material to primary schools

The provision of funding for schools continues each year for a minimum of £100.  The Sanctuary Management Board decide each year which school will benefit based on which is most in need.

Below are examples of how the funds are used.

In 2007 the GBP100 was used for the purchase of school supplies for the newly founded Tokali Junior Secondary School.. The funds were used to purchase sports jerseys and maths sets.

Educational materials to the value of GBP100 has been provided to the Wechiau primary school in 2006.   The picture on the left show the official handing over ceremony in October 2006.  This school was chosen as it has no other sponsors at the moment. he Talawona school received funding from us last year and other schools in the sanctuary area are receiving funding from other places at the moment. FoW provide educational materials for Talawona Primary School

The school at Talawona has been in operation since 2002 as a community run initiative. The school is not government run and has depended on donations and a volunteer teacher to provide an education to over 100 children. The GBP100 we have provided has meant that text books, chalk, chalk brushes, teacher's handbooks, class registers chalkboards, notebooks, and maths sets have been able to be provided.

Funding has been obtained for a government sanctioned Primary School by the start of September 2006. All the educational material provided by FoWG will transfer to the new school.  

All the educational material was presented at a gathering of PTA members, teachers, and students of the Talawona school.
